Proud Father of FSU Grad

I rarely spend money on vacations. This year, our daughter graduated from FSU with straight A's and no debt. She has worked so hard her whole life to maintain excellent grades while at the same time remaining a fun and active student and friend. I wanted to do something special for her so I decided on this rental for the weekend.At first, the Wren rep named Daphne was condescending and off putting. When I told her why I wanted the house for the weekend, She was more concerned with my toilet usage and parking then she was to earn my business. I tried to explain to her that I just wanted to celebrate my daughter and host a small dinner one night, but she kept focusing on crowd size and water usage. I almost didn't rent. The next day I was able to contact an agent named Teddy Edwards who was so Much More understanding and accomodating. He was kind, helpful, and very relateable the entire time. Mr Edwards has a unique way of connecting to people and making them feel valued and respected. He was very accessable throughout the entire weekend. The few small issues that arose during the stay were immediately resolved. The first thing was they gave the wrong door code in the email, but a quick text to Teddy and he sent me the correct code so we could unload the car and start enjoying the views of the beach and ocean! Another issue was the gas grill which hadn't been cleaned and was out of propane but once again Teddy handled that quickly and with humility.

Deceiving

The photos of the property are completely outdated. The property has carpet which was full of dust and stains. We purchased an air purifier because everyone was having allergy issues. We also had to call to have someone come in and clean all the air vents and change the air filters due to mold and dust. The queen bedroom sliding door wouldn’t close all the way. The bathrooms were small and the master bedroom shower was unusable due to low water pressure. The mattress and bed frames need to be updated as well. We found live cockroaches in the living room/kitchen area. We had asked if there were beach chairs available and were told yes. When we arrived the beach chairs were so rusted they wouldn’t open. The management team brought new chairs but they were small. The property sits in a beautiful beach but it needs to be completely updated.

Great beach location but property needs immediate work

We have been renting from Wren Properties since 2010. All the homes we have experienced are family oriented and well-maintained with great amenities EXCEPT Southern Charm. The beach access is perfect, but the home's interior has been sorely neglected. for years and needs long-term maintenance. The issues that could be quickly addressed were. The local response was immediate and positive. The home's air quality is poor because the vents are moldy and rusted. The carpet and walls have seen better days and the furniture in the gathering room smells moldy. The sliding door in the queen bedroom does not close or lock and wood is the only security. I took photos and provided all of this to the company. Other minor issues include needing new bed pillows, better kitchen amenities-cook and serve ware, and linens. The JennAir cooktop needs replaced. Because I know the quality of Wren properties, I was so embarrassed to host our guests, we replaced a lamp, bought kitchen supplies, cleaned, used carpet deodorizer and wiped out every chest of drawers because everything smelled moldy. We will definitely rent from Wren again, but Southern Charm is NOT up to their standards. I hope the local company reaches out to me.

Charming Southern Charm

Excellent, well-equipped, well-located rental. The roar of the waves was ever present and made for great background for sleeping. Great shore views from the house.

Another great gathering

Found the house to be a great floor plan for the 7 of us. Plenty of room at tables, on couches in the living room and on the deck. Kitchen equipped very well. Ice maker made ice but had to be retrieved by emptying into container in freezer. One of the bedrooms upstairs not provided with bath towels, had to use beach towels for shower. Only a few hangers for the four rooms, maybe 10 total. A couple of things did make us wonder if this house met VRBO standards. No smoke detectors, only the back plates, and mold in some form in almost every room. also needs a visit from the exterminator. The house could use a deep clean for dirty walls, door, carpet and windows. It’s a shame the home is not better tended to. It has great potential…

What a lovely beach rental

This property is better than advertised . We had a family function in Ponte Vedra and four of us used the home for base. The house is so well built and quiet, the beach is quiet and clean. Dolphins swam by often , sunrises, birds and the Guana wildlife area across the street is fabulous. We will be back!! Thank you for sharing your home!

Florida/Georgia Weekend

The property is very nice with a great location with of course access to the beach as well as some great restaurants! The main floor is nice with plenty of seating with the kitchen right off the living area making it easy to have food on the counter and watch the game! The bedroom on the main floor was warm with the A/C on but rest of the floor was very comfortable. We had 4 couples and maybe a thought to consider. Change out the 2 rooms with twin beds with queen beds. But, all current beds we good. We had a great time and thank you for allowing us to use your beach house for our 2022 Florida/Georgia Beach Weekend!

Forever friends trip

This was a perfect location to reunite with longtime friends. The house was very comfortable for six adults. Sunrise views were outstanding. Beach walks were delightful. Great location. Good location for restaurants and shopping. We would highly recommend this place.

A wonderful location and great stay!

My girlfriends and I celebrated our "Medicare" birthdays at Southern Charm. We had a wonderful week. The location is excellent. The beach is beautiful, quiet, and you literally have it almost to yourself. The house itself is nicely laid out and comfortable (although we were outside almost all the time). The back porch and deck provided a wonderful place to visit and enjoy the ocean, and whether you prefer shade or sun, it was just lovely. The photographs do not do it justice. The house is right on the water. If you can handle steps, it's the place to be. The living room furniture is new. The house and back porch have been painted. In addition, the property manager was very responsive. The house does have a a lot of carpeting, so can feel a bit damp, but that is true of all beach houses. It was a great stay and we would rent again without hesitation. Thanks for sharing your home with us!

50th birthday girls week-end for my daughter

This house is wonderful ! It surpassed our hopes. The view is amazing . We loved that you could go out on the balcony from every bedroom. It is clean, attractive and comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked and the location is great . It is close to Saint Augustine but away from the traffic. . My daughters and I also loved that you could see the sunrise from the front of the house and the sunset from the back of the house . Only negatives -a slight musty smell in the house and I do feel they could supply a bar or two of soap and basic supplies. For the amount of money we paid I felt they kind of nickle and dimed basic supplies. We left more toilet paper than was there when we arrived. I would highly recommend this house to anyone.

Family time at the beach

Loved this property. This was a family vacation with four adults and two children and all of us were comfortable in the house. There was plenty of room and with the extra bonus room upstairs the kids had their own space. I enjoyed sitting in the rocker on the screened porch watching the waves. The house was as advertised and David was just a phone call away.

Relaxing Time

The house was more than accommodating for our family of 7! The location was perfect! There were wonderful restaurants close by even though we just really enjoyed the beach and all that it offers. Will definitely look to come back again!

Perfect for families

We had a fantastic time in this very comfortable home! The location was perfect: you can’t get any closer to the beach, and we were near enough to St. Augustine to enjoy tourist activities (e.g., the lighthouse, the fort, miniature golf, etc.) several times during the week while “living” blissfully far from the congestion and crowds. The house is wonderful for families, with 4 very comfortable bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and a lovely, cozy living room as well as a variety of outdoor gathering spaces. The property managers were very responsive when we discovered an issue that needed to be addressed quickly. In terms of suggestions for the future, it would be great if the items provided in the kitchen could be updated (e.g., some of the pots, pans & other cookware were old and not in good shape) and much of the smaller/lighter outdoor furniture (e.g., the plastic Adirondack chairs and folding beach chairs) was cracked or broken. However, none of those issues had any real impact on our experience and enjoyment of this property. We’d highly recommend it! (Final note: the house sits directly on A1A, which is a fairly heavily trafficked highway with vehicles traveling at high speeds. Families with small children should be aware of the potential danger if a toddler or young child were to wander out on that side of the house.)

Perfect location

The house is beautifully located on the beach. Inside it is very comfortable with a lot of separate areas to hang out. It is a little dated on the inside and some of the beach supplies need to be updated. Otherwise, we had a great stay.

Simply Gorgeous!

This house is amazing! Totally beautiful, spacious, super clean. The beach is breathtaking - golden sand with shells. Not crowded at all. The first day we had the entire beach to ourselves. The property provides beach chairs, umbrellas, etc. There is a lovely deck and screened-in area for those of us that can't take the sun, but still enjoy listening to and watching the surf and catching that warm breeze off the ocean. I can't say enough about how incredibly beautiful this property is. We will definitely go back again as soon as we can.
