“The El Moore is an absolutely beautiful place !! The history. The quality of the restoration. The midtown area close to museums, dining, downtown. Lovely clean room overlooking the front garden. Spacious bathroom. The bed was a tad soft for us ( Others may like it) Beautiful parlor with great selection of books. We did not watch TV; we read books about the architecture and history of Detroit. Breakfast is both healthy and delicious!”

“It is a lovely and unique bed and breakfast. Each room was themed, which was really cool. I stayed in the neverland themed room that had such wonderful little details throughout that was a treat to explore. The breakfast was delicious and the set up with service felt like out of a movie. I had a wonderful stay and would stay again!”

“So, in honesty, I booked this not knowing it was a bed and breakfast… BUT it turned out to be wonderful. It is called “The Sanctuary” for good reason. Dora and Ed are wonder hosts who definitely went above and beyond for our meager overnight stay. The room was clean, the property was so peaceful. Helped my wife and I start out with a slow relaxing morning before making our way to downtown Detroit. Can’t recommend this enough to people who don’t mind a bed and breakfast. “Georgia was terrific. There had clearly been some breakdown in conversation about our reservation, so she wasn't prepared for us when we showed up at her door (at around 9 p.m.!), but she quickly accommodated us, providing us with linens/towels, etc. She was a warm and convivial host.
