We fully enjoy a rustic getaway, but we had too many issues with this booking to fully enjoy it.
The internet passwords, satellite dish connections, and DVD player didn't work. Luckily we brought enough board games to keep us occupied when we weren't in the creek.
This "completely remodeled cabin" has a lot of soft spots in the floor, There is one right in front of the stove/oven, which is not connected to the wall so it rocks back and forth when you open the oven door. There is another soft spot in front of the bathroom sink. The soap container in the bathroom was just full of water. The shower head had been taken off for some reason and we had to reattach it ourselves. The handle to turn on the shower feels like it's going to rip out of the wall when you try to turn it on and off.
Cooking was also an issue. We arrived to no trash bags, no kitchen towels or paper towels, a total of 3 cups besides coffee cups, no can opener, no ziplocks, no aluminum foil, no large pots, no baking sheet...the basics you would expect. We would have brought our own had we known.
We had to scrounge two ripped trash bags that we found outside. There are storage containers outside for couch cushions and such. One is full of old trash and roaches. We also had 4 roaches inside. The bath towels are old and one of ours had a hole in it.
We never received the door code before we left and our e-mail to the host was not answered until 2 hours after our check-in. The lawn man had to let us in.
