This place has anything you could need. Cabinet and drawers are labeled so you can easily find what you need. The knives are even sharp. The backyard is beautiful and the view is incredible. I even got to hear the Loons!!! If I'm ever up in the area again, this would be my go-to house. Thank you for your attention to detail.

Whispering Pines Hideaway exceeded our expectations. The cottage was immaculately clean and very cute and cozy It was well stocked with everything we needed and little extras like beach towels, ingredients to make s’mores, spices, firewood, etc made the stay very convenient and comfortable. We spent a lot of time relaxing outside in the beauty and enjoyed the small sandy beach and jumping into the lake off the pier. While we were blessed with wonderful weather, I think our stay there would have been great even if we needed to spend more time inside. Highly recommend!

We truly enjoyed our three night stay at Whispering Pines Hideaway! The home has "Up North Charm" and everything we needed for our stay. The highlight for us was canoeing on Lake Gurno. We took our fishing poles with us but the best fishing was off the dock! Lots of little fish that were fun to catch. Adding to the fun were bald eagle sightings and hearing the loons calling. Hayward is a short drive away and has lots of shops and restaurants. The downtown is great with lots of sweet treats to try. We had an amazing walleye dinner at Powell's on Friday night...delicious!

I can't say enough about about this wonderful home right on the lake. My friends and I had a fantastic "girls getaway"! Everything was so well organized so we never had to search for anything. David and Lonnie are great hosts with quick responses to any questions we had while there. They even went out of their way to mail a sweatshirt back to my friend who forgot it. This has been my best vrbo experience! I would definitely recommend this cabin again and again!!!

We have stayed at Whispering Pines Hideaway a number of times and it is a delight every time. The house is cozy, well-stocked and well-cared for, the lake is quiet and perfect, and of course we always have fun going into town for shops and dining. Our kids have made a boatload of memories here, and they talk about it all year, anticipating our next stay. Highly recommend a relaxing stay at Whispering Pines Hideaway!

Beautiful peaceful location yet close to Hayward and the biking trails. Lonnie thought of everything and more! Kayaks, canoe and the house has everything you need. My favorite was sitting on the dock with morning coffee and finishing the evening watching the Eagles and loon.

Great place to stay for our family Memorial Day trip. Close enough to Hayward, and the property has everything you need to relax and have fun. Private dock plus a little beach on the property to build sand castles etc.

Great weekend with our 3 kids. They loved playing in backyard, having daytime bonfires and going out on the lake. A very peaceful area with a well stocked home that will have everything that you need. We even caught some fall fish! Would highly recommend.

What a delightful cottage. It was well maintained, very clean, well setup and stocked with just about every kitchen appliances/cookware needed. Beautifully decorated. The hosts are very friendly, inviting, and very responsive to any questions. What a lovely place to relax and enjoy time with friends.

Very warm and comfortable home. Home had everything you would need/want for your stay. Laid out well, labels to easily locate items in the house, welcome book provided good information on specifics related to the property. VERY clean and organized. There was a basket full of brochures on area attractions for eating/shopping/recreation etc. for all seasons. Would be a great place to stay for all 4 seasons!! Very much enjoyed our stay and would come back in a heartbeat!

The cabin was a lovely place to kick back and just hang out together. One issue we found was that being in our mid-80s, we were not able to enjoy the water as we had anticipated. It was partly because the weather was either very very warm or rainy and cool. The bigger issue was that getting the canoe down the steep bank was not an easy task for the four of us. It would have been helpful to have a wench at the top of the bank to aid in the effort. We didn't try to take the kayaks down but probably would have made the effort if the weather had been a little more moderate. That said, we enjoyed our experience and can commend it to others. It would be a marvelous place to take children because younger people could easily manage the canoe and kayaks and there are many water toys for all to enjoy. We didn't have a campfire, again weather related but there is a marvelous campfire ring surrounded with good seating. Wood and marshmallow sticks are right there handy to us. This is a nice option in VRBO. The hosts were outstanding. We had such fine communication together.

The property was very clean and inviting. The hosts were on top of everything and quick to respond to any questions. As someone else commented, we saw more loons and eagles than people. We caught some nice largemouth bass right off the dock. The only (small) issue was, the stairs to the lake were a little challenging for two older people with bad knees. Other than that, I highly recommend Whispering Pines Hideaway.

Such a beautiful cabin on a fish filled lake! We caught a bunch of pan fish and bass out on the lake too. Some good size ones are out there! Loons came in a few nights, and there’s nothing more up north than hearing Loons out on the lake! In a great location surrounded by all the various lakes for us to bass fish. The kitchen is well stocked and labeled which we loved! No blind searching for something. David and Loni are amazing hosts and great with communicating! We highly recommend and we will definitely be staying again!

The home was nice and clean. The property is located on a small lake that was nice to swim, fish and kayak in. The well stocked kitchen and a gas grill allowed us to eat our meals there. It is a peaceful location and Hayward is only a a 15 minute drive away.

The cabin on Gurno Lake was perfect for our family. It is very private, beautiful setting in the woods, right on the lake. We enjoyed sitting around the campfire at night and sitting on the dock watching the bald eagles perched overhead. We took the canoe out on the lake and we were the only ones out there. It's a very quiet and serene place. The cabin has all the amenities one may need. The kitchen is the most well-stocked I have ever seen for a rental. The beds were very comfortable. The hosts were very hospitable and easy to communicate with. They left popcorn and a s'mores kit for us which was so kind. Hayward is a short 15-20 minute drive with lots of fun shops and restaurants. I highly recommend this place and hope to be back!
