We had a very disappointing experience with this booking. On the day of check-in, at 5:30 PM, we were about to arrive at the property and still had not received any check-in instructions. We contacted the host, who asked for 30 minutes to “figure it out” and send the information. We explained that we would be at the house in about 10 minutes and that the instructions should have been sent hours earlier.About five minutes later, the host texted us check-in details for a completely different property. When we told her the address was incorrect, she replied that this was now our assigned house because they had supposedly discovered bed bugs at the property we originally booked the day before. At no point prior to this moment had we been notified of any issue or change to our reservation.When we called to express that this was unacceptable, the host asked us to at least go see the replacement property before making a decision. We first went to the original house we had booked to pick up our grocery delivery and discovered that there were already guests staying there, which made the bed bug explanation questionable.We then went to look at the replacement property and it was not comparable to what we had paid for. The carpets were dirty, the walls were filthy, and there were bugs in the bathtub. It was clearly not the same quality or condition as the home we had originally reserved.At that point, we had to work directly with VRBO to resolve the situation. This created a ver
