Upon arrival there was a note concerning the HVAC/Heating system which was useful and the private gate access created a nice secure feeling. The owners were communicative the day of check in, trading several emails throughout the day as we encountered hiccups but more information ahead of time would have been useful, primarily in the listing.
It has 3-bedrooms but one bedroom had two beds set up and parking is limited to garage only.
You must park in the small garage and it is a two car garage. A full size Suburban or truck will obviously not fit, the Acadia barely fit but w/o any walk around room. If you’re willing to walk 2 blocks you can park at the pond.
Per the home owner the HOA will issue a $20 fine for any cars parked in the driveway overnight.
The driveway is VERY VERY steep, we scraped the front facia on a new Acadia, the owner did advise the day of.
Not really viable for anyone elderly due to the stairs and according to "House rules; Children not allowed It’s a tri-level home with lots of stairs FYI." If you had adult or college age family fly into town it could work. The ad indicated it but our search was for 6 adults and 1 child plus a dog, and this listing did populate but our “child” was HS age.
They have "towels" as in full size towels but no hand towels or wash clothes, as confirmed by email and they do not really have enough towels for a setup that "sleeps 10". We bought some but left them behind for the next renter.
Also, bring your own hand soap. My experiences had me expecting it to be furnished however again the owner indicated via email they do not provide.
The beds were pretty comfy & w/ it being a gated community it was quite, the walk to the pond is 2 blocks away. They accept dogs but the yard space is a small primarily cement area.
The house itself was updated nicely and the furnishings were in decent shape.
The house has potential but the listing needs some updating to be more accurate. You are trading some pros and cons due to the private neighborhood. These are my observations of both good and bad that popped up.
Overall, a 3 out of 5 based upon my other experiences vs price.
