Family stay at the mansion
Overall I rate my stay as OK. However, there were several aspects that require me to rate it as Poor. The rental was not turned over in a satisfactory manner. Some of the issues I experienced and raised with the owner were pests and cleanliness.The kitchens, specifically the stoves and refrigerators were filthy. Before we used the refrigerators on the main floor, we had to clean them. The stoves/stovetops were also extremely dirty. Even the windows in the kitchen were filthy. The bathrooms were extremely unclean. Unfortunately, we had to clean the showers, sinks and toilets prior to use in almost all of the bathrooms. Lastly, there is a significant spider problem throughout the house. We experienced a significant amount of spiders and spider webs inside, as well as outside. They were large and the webs even had nests. We had to kill so many and be concerned about them while we slept. It really appeared that no one cleaned prior to our arrival. The expectation was that the rental would be clean and in useable condition prior to our arrival. However, that was simply untrue. Overall, the house is large, nice and unique. The size was accommodating and great for our Family Reunion we held that weekend. However, the pests and the lack of cleanliness were of significant enough concern, that we raised it to the owner at that time. Unfortunately, there was no accountability and we enjoyed our stay to the extent we could given the issues.
