Sunny, Private Cottage in St Arnaud

  • This sunny, charming villa is nestled in native bush and only a short walk to Kerr Bay and all the secluded bays along the Peninsula Walkway. Also a short walk to the village and visitor centre, this private retreat is close to all Saint Arnaud has to offer. Enjoy a barbecue on the deck and wake up to birdsong in the morning. The master bedroom features a brand new comfortable queen bed and the second bedroom has a new double. Two additional single beds are available on the landing. The bach includes plenty of off-street parking for cars and boat and plenty of lawn space for the kids to play. Enjoy fishing, swimming, tramping or just relaxing at Belmont.

    IMPORTANT:
    Please bring your own linens, towels, tea-towels etc. and clean the property at the end of the stay (cleaning products provided). THERE IS NO LINEN PROVIDED

    Cleaning service is available for $75 per stay. Please let us know if you would like to book the cleaning service.

St Arnaud is a lovely location and the property is also conveniently located. The property is comfortable enough but is neither fish nor fowl. It is better than a basic kiwi bach but not really up to the standard of a holiday home. It seems a bit expensive for what it is - I found the dirty windows, cobwebs and threadbare carpet a bit too rustic. The house needs some maintenance.

St Arnaud cottage a gem

The St Arnaud cottage provided a welcoming base for exploring the Lake Rotoiti area. The house was clean and well equipped, we slept well in the peaceful surroundings. The location a short distance from lakeside trails was great. Definitely recommend.

The cottage is in a beautiful and peaceful location, and the surrounding nature is lovely. However, our check-in experience was a bit stressful. We arrived around 5pm but were unable to reach the host initially. After some time, she called back and mentioned that she had forgotten to send the check-in instructions with the key information. There were also quite a number of house rules and requirements after arrival that were not clearly stated on the booking page. For example, the washing machine is not available for short-stay guests. Check-in itself was simple once we received the instructions, but check-out requires guests to complete quite extensive cleaning. We did our best to leave the place tidy, but the cleaning took quite a bit of time and delayed our next travel plans. An oasis of peace and tranquility

Had a great time at this lovely old school kiwi bach. Would definitely stay again but not with six adults because access to the two bedrooms with double beds is through where the two single beds are. Ideal for two couples or people with kids. Loved the setting in the native bush and unique character of this sweet bach Found the short cut to the lake :-) Fast and responsive communication with the owner and really appreciate all the warm blankets and heat pump for the colder time of year.

This was a great Bach and yes we found everything perfect from the kitchen facilities to the dining table exactly right for card games.
We were here for the Classic Boat show. Friends called in and the deck was perfect for a g and t!

Lovely cottage

Lovely little cottage, nice location, short stroll down to the lake, and village. Heat pump did a good job in the middle of winter to heat the house, would just recommend curtains for all windows as unfortunately it lets the cold in a lot. Really quaint though, with everything you need. Will be back again in summer.

Tranquil and cute

Very quaint and cosy. The property sleeps 6; a double bed in each of the upstairs bedrooms and two single beds on the landing in between the rooms. This landing is open to steep stairs so I wouldn't put small children or sleepwalkers in those beds. Also, whomever sleeps there will be needing a torch and is likely to be disturbed by anyone coming and going from the bedrooms. With that in mind, the house is really lovely and comfortable. Beech trees full of birdsong all around and beautiful walks all around.

Great place for family

Good comfortable older style property with everything you need for a family holiday. Facilities basic not luxurious but fine for family with teens. Great location and walking tracks nearby and easy walking distance to the lake and hotel, shop etc. Local hotel loction and food excellent with good service.

First visit to St. Arnaud

The Belmont cottage was a pleasant surprise. It has the location, a short stroll to the lake, and a cosy feel. You get the morning sun in the kitchen. You can actually sip your coffee while watching the sun rise over the St. Arnaud range. We enjoyed family time without WiFi too.

Great location, cute house

Such a sweet house in a great spot near town. Easy walk to the lodge and lake. Simple, but homely and comfortable, and the heat pump did a great job of warming downstairs. Would definitely stay again.
